Yes, it’s spring! All we need now is the warmer weather to match the longer days and lighter evenings. But until then there are lots of beauty launches to get excited about.
Barry M Coconut Infused Nail Paint
First up – and definitely something to get you in the summer spirit – is Barry M’s new line on nail varnish infused with coconut, yes, you read that right.
Hitting high street drug stores this week, the nail paint is formulated with a mix of coconut oil and coconut water to provide Barry M’s signature glossy, gel-like finish while hydrating and nourishing your nails.
Costing £4.99 each, there are nine spring shades to choose from, including lilac (surfboard), pastel blue (laguna) and cream (skinny dip).
Essie Spring 2016 Collection
Sticking with nail varnish, also out later this month is Essie’s new and limited edition collection of six spring shades.
In collaboration with Ian Rankin – famous photographer – the new range of light and bright shades launches with the opening of Essie’s Colour Portrait Studio on May 17 for one day only.
Select and lucky attendees will receive a manicure, hair and make-up, followed by a shoot with Rankin himself – wow!
Makeup Revolution Unicorns Are Real eye-shadow Palette
Moving on to make-up, this week witnessed the launch of Makeup Revolution’s latest eye palette, a lovely collection of highly pigmented shimmer shades.
The palette consists of 12 bold colours, covering light to dark and colourful; and while not my cup of tea, as I usually opt for nude and natural tones, for just £4 perhaps it’s time I experimented a little more!
Clarins Sun Kissed Summer Make-up Collection
Available from April 17 is a collection of five new summer make-up essentials from Clarins.
Formulated to give you a sun kissed complexion is the limited edition bronzing and blusher compact; a blend of copper, golden and terracotta hues for an illuminating and glowing skin tone.
For the eyes are four different shades of waterproof eye shadow shimmer creams, £18 and transparent double fix mascara, £20.
Part of the collection also includes an instant light lip comfort oil in a red berry shade to enhance the lip’s natural colour while leaving them feel nourished, £19.
To finish the look is an ultra-fine fixing make-up mist to form an invisible veil to set everything in place, £24.
Jo Malone Rare Tea Collection
I’m so excited about this one! The six new fragrances have been infused with the scents of rare teas hailing from Japan, China and the Himalayas.
I can’t quite decide which I want to try more… the Darjeeling Tea, with jasmine, freesia and a note of apricot; or the sandalwood and benzoin resin scented Golden Needle Tea; or Midnight Black Tea, with vanilla absolute, labdanum and guaiac wood.
However, as they cost £240 each I’m not sure I’ll be trying these anytime soon – I can but dream!
