Review: Sunny summer skincare essentials

If you’re hoping to travel light but are struggling to whittle down what to take, then this post might not be too helpful, because here are three of my holiday must haves for sunnier climates to add to your list.

Summer Skincare Essentials
I love a face scrub on holiday; my skin is more often dehydrated than not and when coupled with frequent applications of sun lotion, it gets clogged pretty quickly. This scrub has gentle grains – not scratchy like some facial scrubs, that help to remove dead skin and the build up of oil and dirt, helping my tan to last longer. It also contains caffeine which helps to brighten my skin too. And the smell is divine; citrus scents are my ‘go-to’ and this is a delicious blend of grapefruit, lemon and spearmint.

Avène Thermal Water, 300ml, £10.00
Avène is one of my favourite French pharmacy brands and their thermal water is one of my all time fave products. Put simply, it’s a facial spray that cools and soothes, and hydrates the skin, perfect after a long day of travelling or spent in the sun. It also comes in a miniature size that I like to pop in my handbag so that I can have a quick spritz to keep me fresh each time I’m feeling a little too hot.

I first discovered this little beauty in a Birch Box last year and have since found out that the brand is exclusive to them. This gem is a juicy, highly moisturising lip balm that really does give you ‘your lips but better’. It has a high-tech formula that adjusts to the unique pH of your own lips to give a subtle hint of colour to perfectly suit you skin tone. Great for day and night, I think this is magical! And, it keeps my lips feeling super soft.
